We stayed in a Melia Suite with an ocean view, and the room was excellent — spacious, clean, and with a truly beautiful sea view. Overall, we liked the hotel: the territory is well maintained, the pool area is great, and the drinks were good (except for the beer).
However, there were several disappointing moments. We noticed that some staff members provided noticeably worse service if tips were not given every time, which negatively affected the overall experience.
The restaurant “The Grill” was very disappointing. The meat was undercooked, and we had to wait around 40 minutes for our order, which is unacceptable.
Another issue was at the front desk. We were promised an earlier check-in than 3:00 pm, but in reality we only got access to our room at 3:05 pm. I am not upset about the timing itself, but I did not appreciate being given false expectations. If we had been told from the beginning that early check-in was not possible, we would have planned our time differently.
Overall, the hotel has strong potential, but better consistency in service and more honest communication would greatly improve the guest experience.
