We stayed at La Palma Holbox for four nights, and while this property has the potential to be a five-star stay, it ultimately falls to a three due to several avoidable small details. The location is undoubtedly its strongest asset, perfectly situated close to both the town center and the beach. However, the experience was dampened by the management's choices; cleaning only occurs every third day for "environmental reasons"—which felt more like a cost-cutting measure—and the floors were noticeably dirty at check-in. Even after cleaning, the floors felt sticky, likely from too much cleaning product or reused water. The rooms themselves are large and include a kitchen, but we were surprised to find no cutlery or basic essentials provided without having to specifically ask for every single item, which made the stay feel quite cumbersome.
The amenities also felt a bit "budget," such as providing a single liquid soap meant for both hands and the shower. While the pool was shaded and didn't feel particularly clean, the proximity to the ocean does help compensate for it. Service was a mixed bag; Jonathan at the front desk was fantastic and gave us some excellent local restaurant recommendations, but the female receptionist seemed far more interested in her phone and friends than assisting guests.
