We stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary and upon arrival we were shown to our room which was immaculate and looked fairly newly furnished. The first night we ate in the restaurant and couldnt fault the food really, it was all lovely and the portions were ample. On the second night we tried to sleep from 11ish, our room was directly above the pub which wasnt an issue until it closed and then staff were cleaning but banging doors, dragging chairs across the floor instead of lifting and carrying them. It made so much noise and really spoilt our nights sleep. A few other bits in the room, the carpet on the stairs upto the bathroom was coming away from the gripper rods and we did catch ourselves on the grippers a few times, the same on the staircase just outside our room (it could seriously cause an accident if someone was to fall on the stairs). Another issue was the gap at the bottom of the door, it let in so much light into the room (I did turn the light off on the staircase but another occupant left it on), in the end I put a towel to block the light from illuminating the room. It was disappointing as first impressions looked lovely but a few bits like this really let it down.
