If youā€™re in the area, stay here, without a doubt

We had a wonderful stay at The Barrel inn. They were accommodating to our potential late arrival, the room was spotless, cosy and fresh. The amazing view at sunset was stunning and although we were too late to eat dinner there, the breakfast was delicious. We had a brilliant night sleep and great hot showers the following morning. This was a recommendation from a friend and so worth it, weā€™ll definitely be back.

We stayed during a major snowstorm that shut down the roads and left the Inn under-staffed: but the food was still excellent, the service was wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, The chef is brilliant and the owners are both very friendly and very helpful. An excellent experience despite the adverse weather conditions.

The staff were lovely. A great youthful vibe in the bar/restaurant. Very clean. Special thanks to Helen & Bozena. The food in the restaurant was first class. Superb for travelling to Bakewell or Buxton. The views of the five counties lives up to its name!! Incredible big thumbs up. Look forward to coming back. Beautiful all around xx

Great views and perfect stay

The location was just amazing. So beautiful the views and the pub attached was our favorite of our trip. Amazing food, good beer and an excellent and comfortable vibe. The room was fine. No view (skylights) and bathroom very basic. Plus we were next to parking lot so heard some early morning deliveries. BUT Iā€™d stay there again and do recommend as the location is the best! (If you like quiet, remote,kind of out of the way placesā€¦on a very quiet road, but one that has been traveled since at least the 900ā€™s!!

Friendly pub in a fantastic location for views and walks. Easy to park. A great breakfast. TV with Netflix etc Tea, coffee, biscuits in room. Comfortable bed. Quality bedding. Meticulously clean.

Views were superb for miles. Quiet yet picturesque. Food was excellent and used locally sourced produce. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay with a delicious menu. Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay.

Lovely place to stay

So nice to have somewhere to eat and stay that doesn't allow dogs. Husband has allergies and it is becoming more difficult to find places that are dog free. Room was excellent and spacious. Evening meal was perfect and a very good breakfast. Wonderful views. Perfect place to stay.

A real treat.

I had a lovely weekend at The Barrel Inn. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The food both at breakfast and in the evening was delightful. The staff were welcoming, which as a single traveler, is always appreciated. The location was ideal for walking with spectacular views. I recommend this establishment without reservation and will definitely return.

I had a wonderful stay.

I travel with work a lot and this was one of my nicest stays. The room was lovely, staff where all super friendly and helpful and the location is amazing. Big huge thank you to all at The Barrel Inn. Good parking and a fantastic breakfast also.
