For our two days, we wanted to stay somewhere in town, walkable to the sites we planned to visit, for the right price since we don't spend a lot of time in the hotel, comfortable, and unique. We hit the jackpot with the Bellevue House, which is one property in a group. Probably an old boarding house. Lots of maritime art on the walls. Easy check-in. Free onsite parking. Access code to the building in case you return after hours. Our 3rd floor room was accessibly only by stairs. Spacious bathroom/shower area. A closet. An easy chair and small table. But no desk or luggage rack so we improvised. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, but we managed with it for our two nights there. There is a gathering room on the 3rd floor. The highlight of our stay at Bellevue House was the complimentary breakfast! The chef prepares a different main offering each morning, and serves you! The quiche was delicious. Sausage one day, ham the next. Pancakes. You can also enjoy yogurt, pastries, cereal, and fruit, or make your own toast. Coffee and OJ too. It was really tasty!! A quaint stay...and we would stay there again.
