Great location right by the water, the bridge, and numerous tourist attractions and great restaurants with two convenience stores directly across the street.
The room was comfortable and had a very small refrigerator. Wi-Fi and air conditioning were adequate. I was on the first floor, which was especially convenient since there is no elevator.
The main downside is noise. The property is essentially an old shared house, and the entrance level is where continental breakfast is served. In the mornings, you can sometimes hear guests/staff talking, laughing and moving around while you’re still trying to sleep. The quiet hours only extend until 8 a.m., and you may also hear the cleaning staff working and cackling.
Because of the building’s age, you can also hear people walking up and down the stairs and general activity throughout the house. It’s not necessarily loud all the time, but the older construction doesn’t provide much sound insulation. I wouldn’t say the noise is a deal breaker but something to keep in mind.
So noise is definitely something to consider if you’re a light sleeper or like to sleep late. Otherwise, the stay was very convenient, particularly because of the excellent location and easy walking access to many of the main tourist attractions on that side of the river. The reception staff, Carla and Maria, were very nice and helpful in every way imaginable.
