The location was lovely. Harrietville is beautiful. The pub/restaurant onsite was great, the food was fantastic, really enjoyed it and so did the kids. However the room we stayed in was average at best. Not bad, but just outdated and needing refreshing. As another traveller wrote, the website shows pictures of renovated, more modern and fresh looking rooms, whereas the room we actually got looks like it hasn't been renovated since about the 1990s. Some good points being the room itself was spacious, with more beds than we needed, which is good value for money, especially for bigger families or groups of friends staying. The clealiness was ok enough, clean, comfortable beds and clean amenities. However the carpet is heavily stained and needs replacing. I didn't want to walk on it bare foot. The bathroom was clean but just quite outdated. I don't like to write about any drawbacks but need to be honest. The location was quiet and peaceful, the restaurant was great, with an onsite pool also. Overall was a decent stay, weighing up the good and not-so-good.
