We had a slight problem with our room. We spoke politely to the owner , who was verbally aggressive, was told she was to busy to speak to us about the problem and just walked away.

The staff were amazing, the two ladies on the evening bar shift were really attentive and showed me to the room. Period property showing character and age but shaded and cool in this hot weather. Lovely refitted shower room and good blackout curtains for a peaceful nights rest.

Dies war ein Entscheid in letzter Minute, wir waren froh, spät noch zwei Zimmer in der Gegend ergattern zu können. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer hübsch eingerichtet und unser Bett hervorragend. Die Dusche war bei Weitem die beste, die wir auf unserem Roadtrip vorgefunden haben. Was störend war, war das Schlüsselsystem der Zimmer, welches wirklich kompliziert und äusserst geräuschvoll war (man hörte jeden Gast herein und hinaus gehen). Leider wurde unser gebuchtes Frühstück vergessen, wir standen zur angegebenen Zeit vor verschlossener Restauranttüre…

Note: the photos do not represent the rooms/pub. New management and the photos were taken when the previous licensees were in charge when it was a good place. Now …... No fine dining, no quality toiletries, no Nespresso machine in the room as shown on photos & lack of general maintenance. The pub was dirty, carpets old and not hoovered. Don’t smell nice. Unhelpful male staff on reception. There are pubs around the area & they were busy. This pub had very few visitors in all the time. Reviews say bad food etc. And we agree with other negatives reviews.

The younger staff members were super polite and helpful. The room was not well cleaned in advance of arriving and was not serviced during the stay. Evening meal seemed a bit like an oven heated frozen meal rather than freshly cooked. It may not have been but it seemed that way

Room shown as Luxury Deluxe Double with soundproofing, and although comfortable hardly deluxe!! Old building structure so difficult to eleaviate basic noises!! And definitely not sure about the "river view" claim!! Yes, it's there but well camouflaged!! But overall a very pleasant stay. Bar and restaurant facilities good and the staff very friendly and helpfull, and make guests feel welcome. GREAT BREAKFAST. 😊👍

On arrival the pub looked quiet, it has plenty of parking to choose from, on arrival we were welcomed by the young staff and then one of the owners. We were in one of the rooms away from the pub and they did warn us on our 2nd night there is an 80th Birthday party. We were taken to our room and first impressions a very nice cozy room, bed a bit squeaky, no fridge but shower very good and bed really comfy and blackout blinds. The room seemed clean until I found a stained pillow on our second night which I did leave in plain view on the bed in the morning in the hope that when they come to clean the room they would take it away but instead it was moved and fresh towels for one person was put in its place our room wasn’t cleaned that day just towels were put in maybe because it was Sunday I don’t know. The night that the party was on, we expected to hear music which was fine but once the party was over there were lots of people outside shouting and running around and not once did I hear any of the owners or staff come out and ask them to be quiet as guests were sleeping. If we stay somewhere we try the food at least once, we went for the evening food and it was reasonably priced but Yates/Weatherspoon standard. The breakfast that I got was ok but my husband went to eat his but then had to make excuses as to why he didn’t want it, we didn’t complain as we felt the place appears to be struggling which is apparent to see. In the right hands this place could be amazing
