The moment I walked into the entrance, my expression was This is a homeless shelter or some kind of asylum.
The hotel room was booked for my son and me. On our approach to the entrance of the so-called hotel, we were met with three individuals who were just in the entrance smoking what we could perceive as "Weed", while spitting just outside the entrance. From that moment, we did not feel safe staying at the hotel. On entry, in what looks like a bar/reception, we meet a lady who at first was unable to find our reservation. During this time, my son went back to the car as he did not feel safe being at the premises. I then asked the lady to cancel the reservation when she finally found it. However, she refused even though it stated on their booking reservation email that cancellation could be done until 11:30 pm. We were at the hotel at 11 pm.
The room was dirty, hairs all over the bed, carpet was filthy. There is nothing Royal about this so-called hotel.
We then left the hotel and made another reservation at the Park Regis Hotel Birmingham.
I will be contacting Trading Standards if I am not issued a refund.
