Nice weekend stay
Had a good stay at the Connaught Lodge. We were visiting with some friends so booked 2 rooms and check-in was smooth, apart from there being quite a big queue at the check-in desk. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
As some previous reviews have stated, the rooms in the lodge are a little outdated and could do with some freshening up (repainting, replacing old furniture etc). However, they were still pleasant to stay in and had all the basic amenities required, including air conditioning. A note on accessibility, there was also only 1 small lift in the lodge building which only really had enough room for 1 person and 1 suitcase.
The main building of the hotel is lovely and we really enjoyed using the bar and spa facilities. 2 of us also had spa treatments at the Bluewater Cottage which is within the car park area.
The breakfast was great, both in terms of taste and selection, and both mornings we found we were able to get a table straight away.
Overall, this is a good hotel which is in an ideal location for reaching the main attractions of Bournemouth. To become great, I feel they need to modernise and clean up the rooms a bit.
