I gave five stars, even though not everything was perfect because I’m taking into consideration the price and the staff was amazing. This is a motel that has few amenities (pool and a wonderful beach) attached to a hotel where you have privileges to use their amenities (elevator, laundry, breakfast). This seems to cause a lot of people to give them one star, even though it is extremely easy to do research and discover this fact beforehand. I did check the prices between Comfort Inn and Hamilton and the Comfort Inn is consistently $100-$150 cheaper per night. I was willing to walk across the property to save that much money but if I was in a wheelchair, I’d stay at the Hamilton.
The condition of the property was very weathered and dated (as are most of them in this area), but our room was clean and other than a musty smell that was manageable because there was a screen door, we did not experience any of the things others complained about in regards to cleanliness or needed repairs. The bed itself and the bedding was newer. There is no microwave in the room but there is one downstairs.
The staff was extremely accommodating, professional, and easy to work with even when I had a complaint about something that ended up being my fault. They were not rude at all. I’d stay here again.
Because the hotel is right on top of the beach, I would only stay in the second floor or above personally.
