Great view of lake. Only thing is..... Need to bring ur own stuff to make food. Otherwise you are paying a high ticket for a meal.

The view was the only good thing about the hotel. The room had a smell there was no hot water or water pressure in the shower. Staff help was non existent. We left and got a room somewhere else.

There was a toilet seat sitting outside our door and a nasty broom.. there was someone hiding in the dark next to our room that just kept on knocking on the what's supposed to be a refreshment room that looks like it hasn't been used in over 30 years. We found mouse poop in the bathroom and on wouldn't you know we didn't have a toilet seat hand towels were used for a windows curtain the microwave was from the 1900s used shampoo and conditioner we hade 4 people staying and they nicely provided a hand towel for bathing 1.. felt very icky and we regret staying hoping and praying we dont end up with bed bugs this was a terrible experience and will never go back or reccomend

No beach, No breakfast, No pool, No check in at place had to drive to a different motel. Shows pictures of all on the page. Room was clean But paint peeling everywhere. Daughter and I wouldn't use the tub/shower husband did. Covered in rust, tiles and grout falling off the walls. Views outside was fantastic of the bridge and island otherwise would have got 1 star.

I didn't stay at Northwinds I picked them but Sunrise Beach Motel where I checked in put me at Sunrise which I was not happy. It was dirty, disgusting, doorwall was cloudy couldn't see outside and bathroom was size of small closet including shower. When I complained that I was suppose to stay at Northwinds he said it was older and worse. When I showed him the room I picked which was 100% better than Sunrise they didn't know where that room was. We didn't stay the full week cause we couldn't take it anymore he said you wouldn't get any money back because we didn't complain to him and I said not to you but when I checked in I did but he was rude and refused. Never again will I go thru Hotels.com or even think of staying there again. I feel we were taken advantage of.

Great location! Very clean room. Easy check in and helpful staff. The downside is the exterior of the building, which is a shame because it has so much potential. The building needs a power wash and the windows are very dirty. A little upkeep would go a long way. And although the room was nice and clean, neither bedside lamp worked, there was no remote for the tv, no internet, and the shower didn’t drain. The vanity sink was cracked. With such a beautiful location I would suggest hiring some window cleaning and maintenance and it would be an excellent affordable place to stay.

JUST DON'T!! FROM THE ROOM TO THE LADY AT THE DESK, SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY AND BOOK ELSEWHERE. BOOKED FOR 2 NIGHTS, HAD TO GOTO A DIFFERENT PLACE TO CHECK IN BEC THEY DONT HAVE THEIR OWN OFFICE, WALKED INTO THE ROOM WHERE IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS. MOLD EVERYWHERE, INCHES OF WATER ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR, TOILET WAS BROKEN, BUGS, THE SMELL, BURNT SAFTY PINS OPEN ON THE FLOOR !!! THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUT DOWN !!

Check in was like a scavenger hunt. We got there later than 11 pm and there was a sign on the door saying to go to another hotel if the front desk was closed. Once we got to that hotel there was another sign on the door saying to go to another hotel if they were closed. We went to the third hotel and were able to get our key and go back to this hotel to get into our room. The room was basic, simply being somewhere to sleep. Shower floor was unfinished cement that I wouldn't feel comfortable standing in without shower shoes on. AC unit worked well. Room was good for what we needed it for, which was simply to get sleep for a few hours before hitting the road again.

I liked the view, I liked the setting of the private deck 15 feet from water, to hear lapping waves is serene! But, maybe because room was unused there was a need to clean, as there were some spiders. The sliding screen to deck was ripped, so couldn't leave door open without bugs coming in. Deck needed restaining and grill was deplorable. So, after asking housekeeping to refresh room, it was a pleasant stay. Both my husband and I note that the bed was wonderful, slept like a baby... Staff was wonderful! You are on your own, and depending what you want to pay for, this is ok. If you want a five star go somewhere else. I have stayed 2 times, the other stay was in another private deck room. So, I knew what I was getting.

I stayed here recently and had a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent. However, the property is older and could use quite a bit of maintenance and upkeep. While my room was clean for the most part, it felt run down. The floor had a soft spot that made me a little nervous, and the bed sagged due to a lack of support, making it uncomfortable to sleep. I also felt the room was overpriced considering its condition. There isn't an ice machine on-site, so you have to drive to a nearby property if you need ice, which was inconvenient. The beach area was much smaller than expected and was overgrown with weeds. Overall, this property has a lot of potential because of its great location and friendly staff. With some repairs, updates, and better maintenance, it could be a wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful spot!

Wonderful little motel right on the beach. Great fire pit and beach. Shower was very nice with strong pressure and plenty hot. Bed was very comfortable. Excellent accommodations for the price. We'll stay here again!
