We arrived at the hotel and were met by a very helpful and professional receptionist.
We went to our room, that was quite large and had the basic amenities that you expect.
Because of the cost of an overnight stay (£270) we expected things to be of a higher standard.
The TV was parallel to the bed, so you either twist to watch it or sit next to each other on the edge of the bed. A shelf in the shower would be very useful to put shower gel and shampoo on. There was only one roll of toilet paper The courtesy tray was quite meagre - plain tea (4 teabags), coffee including decaf, milk, sugar and sweetener. The breakfast was very good and vegetarian sausages were offered when we asked the staff. These were not advertised as a choice.
However, all the staff were of a very high standard, the room was furnished well and was clean. The breakfast was self-service and good. I know that the hotel is in a central position in the town, close to the station, the beach and shops but when compared to other places we have stayed in for half the price where standards and amenities were if a much higher standard sadly it doesn't really compare.
