Very central location. Room very clean bathroom Spotless. Towels nice. Good hairdryer. Breakfast all fresh and staff at breakfast very helpful and polite. Coffee good. Bed comfortable had a good nights sleep. Would recommend

Prettt average hotel, not a great smell in reception, not air conditioned and a lot of noise at night. Someone was vacuuming late. Not worth the money, it was pretty expensive for what you got.

The hotel has clearly been neglected for a long while and has recently changed owners. While the room was clean, it was dark, devoid of personality or decor (but for a weird crypto-bro style painting) and worn down. The hot water was unreliable. I think they should have kept it shut while doing a full refurbishment, even if they missed high season because I suspect they sadly might not survive the reviews. On the flip-side, the location is great (maybe a bit dark on the lower-floor rooms), the workers are attentive, professional and friendly, and the breakfast was basic but decent.

Okay, but it could have been cleaner, the breakfast was alright, but not much to choose from - the bacon was good. On our second morning it was a bit more people at breakfast and it became chaos - running out of mugs, plates as well as food. It was very humid inside the hallways as well as the room and windows needed to be open all the time. There was nowhere to hang off coats. Only bath towels, no hand towels. The room felt very austere and bare. One could hear everything from the hallway, which very much affected the quality of sleep.

Absolutely the best hotel we could have gone to. A short walk away from the beach. Right on tye High Street with all tye shops nearby. All the best restaurants at your doorstep. Delicious breakfast with so much choice thats included. 24hrs reception, with staff that are friendly, helpful and always welcoming and local experts that can recommend the best of everything. They even offered to hold our luggage after check out because our train was 5 hrs away from departure. We fell in love with Brighton and we'll definitely go back yearly and we'll for sure never stay anywhere else other than The Mitre Hotel. Thank you to all the great staff who contributed to our stay being memorable

Stay was good. Bed could have been comfier with no extra pillows. The fan wasn’t working so we asked the staff at the desk and he got it sorted quickly with good communication. We also asked for additional cutlery which was delivered to our room too. Breakfast was good with veg options also provided when asked for. overall stay was great with lovely staff!

We arrived at the hotel and were met by a very helpful and professional receptionist. We went to our room, that was quite large and had the basic amenities that you expect. Because of the cost of an overnight stay (£270) we expected things to be of a higher standard. The TV was parallel to the bed, so you either twist to watch it or sit next to each other on the edge of the bed. A shelf in the shower would be very useful to put shower gel and shampoo on. There was only one roll of toilet paper The courtesy tray was quite meagre - plain tea (4 teabags), coffee including decaf, milk, sugar and sweetener. The breakfast was very good and vegetarian sausages were offered when we asked the staff. These were not advertised as a choice. However, all the staff were of a very high standard, the room was furnished well and was clean. The breakfast was self-service and good. I know that the hotel is in a central position in the town, close to the station, the beach and shops but when compared to other places we have stayed in for half the price where standards and amenities were if a much higher standard sadly it doesn't really compare.

The hotel staff were amazing. We were there for the marathon and they allowed us to leave our luggage and then let us return later for a shower. It was an unexpected treat which we were so grateful for as it allowed us to freshen up and not have to drive home sweaty. Thank you
