Really wanted to like this self check-in hotel, but will not be returning here.
The building itself has lots of character with trendy decor; however, the lack of guest services/security protocols was disconcerting. Once we checked in, we noticed that our comforter was covered with dog hair. We had to get our own lint roller to clean it because we did not receive a response from staff after texting the number provided. Later on, we realized the body wash was not refilled and the hot water was not working.
The next morning as we were returning to our room, we found 3 strangers were trying to enter it... they claimed to be checking on our stay, but were not wearing any uniforms nor did they identify themselves until asked. After calling the phone number and urging the call center to contact the innkeeper twice, it was confirmed those people were staff members. This was gross negligence on the part of a self check-in hotel. Hideaway Inns should have at least notified us that staff members would be checking on us during our stay, let alone trying to gain entry into our room.
After all that, we sent an email about the hot water and got a response saying they are working on it, but no update was provided. The hot water did not work for the remainder of our stay.
We have stayed at other self check-in hotels that did not have issues like this.
