The hotel itself was beautifully fitted out, and in a superb location, and the staff were absolutely lovely. However there were a few niggles that stopped it from being really great.
Firstly, the bed was very hard, and the duvet was far too heavy for the weather. The lack of aircon meant that I had to sleep under the duvet cover (not a problem as such, but a separate sheet or lighter cover to lay on top would have been better) but the two combined meant i didn't get a great night's sleep before London marathon.
Also, while the market area on the 12th floor, where you could buy food and supplies, was generally very well stocked, they didn't have any toothpaste, which I'd forgotten, so i had to get out of my pyjamas and walk to the nearby supermarket.
The TV in my room alsp wasn't working, but to the credit of the team there, they quickly offered me 20% off.
Finally, the 12th floor lounge / communal area was beautifully appointed, with a coffee machine and milk, but no tea options.
I think if they can iron out these few things, it will be worth a 5 star rating from me!
