I’d booked months before & selected the larger self catering apartment w/out breakfast rather than the smaller room with breakfast as we had an early flight & needed the space to rearrange our bags. Arrived to be put in a small room that wasn’t self catering. Questioned it with the very nice lady who welcomed us & she called her boss who said on the phone that I’d booked ‘the last room available’ and was pretty sharp with me saying that there was definitely no self catering apartment available when I booked & that Expedia was always showing rooms/# of people availability that wasn’t correct. it wasnt worth arguing for one night!
Having worked in hotels in the past I know that Expedia shows whatever you as the owner/manager of the property add to it, so she maybe is just struggling with that side of things and/or had me confused with some other customer, but it was a bit annoying to not get the room we paid for - if the room type genuinely was booked in error, she had weeks to message me about it & explain.
Room we were in was nice enough, although it was small & the lady present at the property gave us plates & cutlery etc so we could eat the food we'd planned to. They did offer us breakfast but we didn't take it as we had to catch our flight. This would be a great place to stay if they could ensure that customers get what they book, but with that uncertainty i wouldn't recommend it.
