Firstly, the house was a charming, characterful home centrally located in a quiet area and very clean throughout. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies like an oven, freezer, fridge, coffee maker etc. The downstairs bedroom had a double bed with single bunk bed above. Upstairs bedroom had a quirky bed (made from pallets) with a very comfortable mattress and two quilts. I couldn’t stand up except in the centre of the room however. Some of the electric lights flickered incessantly. There was a working smoke detector which we checked. We didn’t enter the basement area with the washing machine.
But there were two issues not mentioned in the description. Firstly, the upstairs bedroom and bathroom were only accessible by a very steep staircase: descending had to be backwards. This is not suitable for anyone who is not highly mobile and certainly too dangerous for children. The worst issue was the shower in the bathroom. This was a shower hose attached to a sink and we were expecting to hoist a mouldy shower curtain onto ceiling hooks to form a type of cubicle, then use a peculiar mop to sluice the water into the drain. This simply isn’t fit for purpose and not what we expected.
