We chose these serviced apartments based on the many positive reviews—and the location truly is unbeatable. Our flat was new, bright and modern, just a short walk from all the main sights, restaurants, cafes, shopping in Porto. Check-in was handled smoothly by email when we arrived late on Friday.
However, despite the “serviced” label, we never encountered any staff during our entire three-night stay. In the two months leading up to our trip I tried repeatedly to reach out by email, Instagram, and through Hotels.com with no response. Once we arrived, my friend and I called the provided phone numbers dozens of times over the weekend—nobody answered.
On Monday morning we hoped someone would be at the desk so we could ask about storing our luggage (we didn’t fly until evening), but the reception was empty. We waited nearly 40 minutes, called, texted WhatsApp, even messaged Instagram before finally hearing back. The apartment itself was lovely, but the lack of any on-site support caused unnecessary stress and frustration.
I’m perfectly fine with a self-check-in/out setup—but only if questions and issues can be answered quickly. If management can ensure clear, timely responses (even remotely) and provide checkout details in advance, this property would deserve its excellent reputation. Right now, you’ll get a wonderful space in a prime location—but be prepared to handle most self.
