Friendly welcome. All was fine - it's not a luxury hotel, as you can see from the photos and the price, so don't expect it. It's also an old building. Uneven floors, creeky doors, cracked/ uneven walls and plasterwork etc. Etc.
For about £100, it's fine as a place to sleep. Best part was a huge super king bed (we were upstairs in the garden view room that allows dogs).
A few issues:
1. Bath with hand shower head only, no actual shower - my mistake for not catching this at booking (think all rooms are the same).
2. Paid for the car park and went to check in, when told didn't need to pay for the carpark - would be handy to know this as part of the check-in info.
3. I had to be out early, before the cooked breakfast window. Was told there would be cereals, bread etc left out that I could help myself to. There were packets of cereal and a mini fridge...but the fridge was empty, so I enjoyed cereal with water! Oh and no bread either, so just a toaster and pots of jam to look at! A shame!
Lastly, the food is okay, a bit overpriced for what you get to be honest. Nice selection of local beers.
