There’s no doubt this hotel is relatively cheap, but wow, what an awful place. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my many years of travel and this is very close to the worst.
Firstly, the car parked was packed with badly parked vans. Not their fault; there’s simple not enough room.
Then, you get no room key. It’s all codes on pieces of paper and if you arrive after 9pm you don’t even get the paper. To note, phone ahead of you are arriving after 9, otherwise there will be nobody on the desk to give it to you.
The room smelled of a dishcloth, the kind used by bad restaurants to clean everything which is never rinsed out. A combination of strong disinfectant and sewage. Even opening the window for several hours did not get rid of it.
The bathroom is like a Portacabin that has been dumped in the room, a single plastic unit with a shower that is connected to the sink taps. There was somebody else’s hair everywhere so the smelly dishcloth had not reached some places.
Breakfast again was cheap but dismal. Burnt croissants and no cutlery. Even after I had requested a knife I had to wait 10 minutes.
I could go on but you get the gist.
I honestly feel sorry for the people who work there and for those who have no choice but to stay there. Avoid this place if you possibly can.
