I gave this hotel 2 stars because the heater worked and there was a bed. And there was one staff member, Tim, who was helpful and competent. I’ve stayed at Microtel hotels before and this location does a disservice to the brand. After waiting more than an hour for the airport Shuttle, calling several times to confirm we arrived at the hotel. When I mentioned the delay and confusion around the shuttle the manager in an aggressive communication style, gave me several different excuses for the inconvenience. None of the indicated he took any ownership and there was nothing that approached an apology.
Then there was the room. Someone has obviously done a self-remodel …… floor vinyl peeling up and uneven, uneven paint, no handle to bathroom door, ear splitting shrieking noise from shower, water tepid in shower not hot (the Valve is clearly set incorrectly).
To get WiFi, you Have to join Wyndham rewards program, the heater is as loud as the airplanes taking off, and the Plastic mattress cover was disturbing for sleep, breakfast was spartan, no tea, like from a convenience store (Packaged muffins and packaged oatmeal and grits). Both when we checked in and when we were checking out, there was the Pungent smell of skunk weed in the lobby.
