While the management team was responsive on the phone when we called, they could not fix the fundamental issue with the room itself.
We have stayed in places without AC before and managed by opening windows at night and in the morning to cool down. In this unit, that was literally impossible—none of the windows open. To make matters worse, this is a modern glass building, and the blinds were left wide open before our arrival. The space had been baking in the sun, turning the room into a total greenhouse with temperatures exceeding 90°F (32°C) without a way to cool it down.
The only way to get any airflow was to leave the porch door wide open, which immediately let in bright light and bugs, making rest impossible. This would not be a rentable unit in the USA.
