Be aware of no footwear + night front desk poor servicing.
Stayed one night and I didn't see in prior reviews this hotel is strict on no shoes anywhere in hotel, as soon as you arrive they take it away. imagine walking the entire property including the restaurants bare feet. The floors are clean, but still felt a slight film by the time I returned to room. Found out they do give hotel slippers if you ask, why not give it at check in? very nice property and onsen great. Had one in my room in shower area which was great. Room is big and had three tatami floors. Nice toiletries and hair dryers. Property has public onsen, does a kabuki type show, ramen shop, buffet, gift shops.
Service on the other hand from front desk at night NOT good. Arrived 7 pm for city 1/2 marathon next day that my son was running as part of a Hawaii delegate and he was not with us. Asked front desk to arrange for a taxi in morning to marathon. none available. I suggested he ask shuttle to take us earlier than shuttle start time and I would pay. asked if any hotel employee would drive us and I would pay, he said no to both. The hotel is a 20 min drive to start line so I couldn't walk. He said he asked his manager, female, to see if any other recourse and came back with nothing we can do. Stressed all night, desperate going to ask hotel strangers for ride. next morning asked front desk again for taxi and got one in 5 mins. Night staff losers and I missed breakfast prepaid, refund please.
