Good location, just a 5-10 minute walk from downtown next to a river and the Alaska Railway station (yes, lotsa train horns) and a couple of walking trails. I hate to say this; in retrospect, I wish I would’ve popped a couple hundred extra bucks and gotten an experience ten times better. This hotel is an old (and I mean OLD) Comfort Inn that was a dump when rebadged to a Wyndham hotel. The room was at best Spartan, the bed comfort was OK, but everything is just dingy and a refresh is long overdue. The free breakfast is powdered eggs and turkey sausage plus some cereal and yogurts. The front desk staff needs coaching; the free courtesy shuttle (nice touch) driver was actually the highlight, he was courteous, helpful and diligent. Give Jose a raise, please. Stay here if you’re on a tight budget, otherwise avoid.
