The staff were all friendly and helpful. But so many issues with the hotel itself, the hotel undergoing MAJOR remodeling and you will be effected by it. First and most annoying was NO hot water for either shower or sink the next morning. And the shower handle wouldn't even turn passed the 1/2 way point so I figured it was the shower handle not the hot water itself. So being in a hurry to catch the train I thought I'd just wash up in the sink, no luck there no hot water ever came out of the tap. And it turned out my travel companion who was in a different room on a different floor had the same experience. The "standard" room was overlooking an air shaft, with frosted windows, so very dark inside. No extra blanket, and just a thin blanket on the bed, no bedside table to put things on, no luggage rack, no bath mat or rug to step on getting out of the shower. Lacking in so many of the basics it was like this place had just opened yesterday. The location was fine, but you could tell you were getting into a sketchy area of the Gaslamp district. I would not recommend the hotel even thought the staff was very pleasant, the amount of issues with the rooms couldn't be remedied by friendly kind staff. Stay somewhere else.
