It was parents weekend, so I ended up paying over $300 a night. I booked for two nights, we left after day one and paid for another room, 40 minutes away to get away from this property. Initially the key reader didn’t work, had to go back to the front desk three times. On the third try, one of the staff walked over to help me, but door still didn’t open, so she helped me get a different room. The new room worked, I was able to get in. But it was horribly smelly, like a wet dog, cigarette smoke also, it was bad. If it wasn’t so late at night we would have left that night. On top of the smell, there was mold all over the ceiling across the shower and bathroom area. Dents in the wall, stains on the wall, I slept with my socks on. I am not a hotel snob, I travel a lot, I stay at mid level hotels all the time. But this was honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We ate the $300+ second night, booked a Hampton Inn in Ocala and bolted in the afternoon of the second day. Lesson learned, will never, never, return.
