Although the customer service was excellent, I firmly believe I should receive some form of compensation. This was a birthday trip, and we did not get the third floor as promised prior to our arrival. There were large cockroaches throughout the hotel; one was in the elevator, another by the door separating our room from the lobby, and yet another at our door. Additionally, there were more outside along the side of the hotel as we walked up the rail. I reported this to the hotel, and while they did clean it, there were still more roaches, which was utterly disgusting. The shower soap caddy was filthy and appeared to be moldy or something similar. I informed them, and housekeeping came, but she only cleaned the bathroom and the room, not the caddy. Furthermore, the smell in the hallway leading to our room was nauseating; my clothes absorbed that odor, and I had to wash EVERYTHING as soon as I got home. It was terrible. The lamp was dirty, the curtains had stains, and the floor felt damp for some reason. Overall, it was incredibly disappointing, and we deserve a refund because those three days were extremely difficult, and we tried to spend most of our time outside.
