Worst checkin experience ever
The absolute worst checkin experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Was initially told a room was not ready. I noted it was a Saturday and they were very busy. I waited for 20-30 minutes before following up. Was told a room was still not ready and waited another 20-30 minutes. Another couple who checked in after us demanded a room and was given one immediately. I hoped this meant rooms were opening up but was ignored for another 20-30 minutes. I asked to have my reservation canceled so we could get a room at a different hotel. We were told that they could do nothing and we needed to contact hotels.com. I called and was told I could not canceled because our checkin was still being processed. When we then went to have our checkin processes terminated so we could cancel our reservation, we were given a room on the spot. It felt like we were being lied to about no rooms being available and I have no idea why. We were on the verge of just leaving and forfeiting our payment.
Room was clean and had no other issues for the rest of our stay outside of the room next to us having barking dogs from 9pm-10pm. The checkin experience did leave a bad taste for the remainder of our stay.
