Comfort Suites Clearwater Bay - Clearwater 27.99194, -82.79533

We liked the hotel, the location, and the layout of the room; however, there were two problems. In the separate seating area, which was very nice, the springs on the sofa had given out. It was possible to sit on the sofa but very uncomfortable. The second problem was a non-working TV remote. I reported this twice to the desk person, but it was not remedied.

We were very pleased with the hotel itself. The room was exceptionally large and roomy for the price. It was a little difficult in exiting the hotel on the main road. When we pulled into the hotel parking lot there were two employees smoking in the parking lot next to the entrance. Since we are both non-smokers this was a turn-off. Overall we were pleased with our overnight stay.

Excellent hotel and amenities. Friendly staff. Breakfast was okay; had the basics and was well supplied. Located in quiet residential neighborhood. If you don't mind being a few miles from the beach or restaurants/stores, this is a great location. Room was very clean and nicely furnished. Hot water took a few minutes to warm up, but that's the only complaint. If you use the pool or hot tub at night, be prepared for mosquitoes.

Great room with nice sitting area, fridge, and microwave. Outstanding help at the front desk, thanks Anna,and far better breakfast then usual.

Enjoyed the location, our room was very nice and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The pool was sparkling clean and it was a nice area for walking. We will definitely return.

Hotel is on Clearwater Bay with bay view. Clearwater beach is about ten minutes away. Central location for day at beach and for touring Clearwater and Tampa (~20 minutes away). Great breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. Free use of computers (2) in lobby. I would stay there again.

Room was clean. Bring your own breakfast food. Waffle was good but not worth the long wait for the one waffle machine. Other food available left much to be desired. Strange odor in the hallway of the 2nd floor. Reminded us of a dentist's office. Don't plan on sleeping on the pullout couch. Price was reasonable for the area so all in all, I got what I paid for.

The whole experience was horrible. our room was hot and stuffy. Fresh air was not an option. Our room key was given to others due to a mistake at the front desk - the manager gave our key out and our room was ransacked by thieves - all caught on the hotels security cameras!! The police were called, the hotel manager took no responsibility. The cleaning staff were truly compassionalte and helpful - too bad the general manager was not able to take lessons from her staff. The local police were also truly wonderful and went way above and beyond to retrieve our belongings. The hotles owner was in some Middle Eastern country and had no interest in customer service or follow up of any kind. What a horrible experience!!!!!!!!!!!

It was one of ours best hotel stay.

Located in a residential area facing the water, this clean, comfortable,roomy suite is within a short drive to Clearwater Beach, Dunedin Beach, or you can take the Ferry to Caladesi Island. There is no restaurant on site, but several decent ones within an easy drive. There are lots of fun things to do in the Clearwater area. And the sunset from the pool area is spectacular! The breakfast was adequate, entire staff was helpful and courteous. Front desk lady was especially helpful and nice. The walking trail along the Intercoastal waterway is fantastic. clean, safe and beautiful. We definitely would book this hotel again.

This was a very pleasant surprise. The location is close to everything you need in the area. We found the room very clean, comfortable and spacious, although carpet and sofa are very tired and should be replaced. The staff was very accomodating and went above and beyond the normal courtesy you expect. Although it is located near a questionable area that you must drive through there to go to the beach, it is no issue. I definitely wouldn't suggest walking south beyond the bridge, but the walking path that leads north towards the town of Dunedin is spectacular. Clean, safe, uncrowded and with a view along the Intercoastal Waterway you won't find anywhere else in the area. We know the area well, and were very satisfied with our three day stay there. This is definitely a treasure found!

Nice hotel with very pleasant staff. Hotel met our needs nicely. Room as spacious and clean. Staff was friendly, helpful and cooperative. Hotel location is far north Clearwater almost Dunedin with a nice view of the bay.

Great location on the bay had bayside sidewalks with benches. Sunsets were wonderful. Only took about 15 minutes to get to Clearwater Beach area. It is in a residential area so was quiet and very professional. Problems: There were 3 adults. Two slept on the beds and one tried to sleep on the hide-a-bed sofa. I don't think a child could have slept on it. The mattress was non-existent, sagged through the wires on the bed part. Had a refrigerator that worked only half the time. Asked them to check - ended up losing my medication that required refrigeration.

We made reservations on hotels.com at the last minute. Got a great rate for 4 nights. Hotel was better than expected and was close to the beach without the beach traffic and accessible to other areas. Would definately go back.

Hotel staff were very friendly. Hot breakfast wasn't so great, but it was free. Suite was large, and very clean. The hotel was convenient to the beach (but still a 5-10 minute drive). View of the bay is nice. Pretty sunsets. There is an excellent bike/walking trail very close. I would stay again, for sure!

While Comfort Suites' new motto is Breathe Free, our room was anything but.... It reeked of stale, foul cigarette smoke. The carpet, sofa and other areas had obvious cigarette burns. The microwave was filthy and smelled of recently popped(stale) popcorn. It also did not contain a turntable. The A/C had a weird wall thermastat hook-up that we were not able to make our room comfortable with. The "jacuzzi" was a joke: half the jets did not work properly. The bathroom , however, was clean and maintained. Would never stay at this location again.

We definately were impressed by the rooms. They had plenty of room. The pool is a little small but it serves its purpose. The breakfast that is served has a very wide variety. The staff were all so very helpful and nice.

I value customer service and this hotel definitely had great customer service. The staff was very willing to please.

Great facility and wonderful staff. So great we canceled our other reservation to come back to this hotel.

We were so happy with our stay the first time we re-booked it for 5 days later rather than going to a different hotel. Robin and Anna were so very helpful. I can't say enough about this hotel. The hot tub is the bomb!!! Will take care of all your aches and pains. Great view of the ocean and easy to get to.

The hotel was nice in a great location right on the bay with a very nice view. The continental breakfast was more than we expected. We only had one problem with this hotel, the beds comforter had hair from past guess.

The hotel was great! We had to stay there for my daughter to have outpatient surgery. The room was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Compared to other hotels we've been in in the Clearwater area, this was a great deal. Clean, good-sized room, NO smoke smell anywhere in the hotel, staff was superb, breakfast supplied was fine - particularly the waffle machine. I would definitely go there again. Can't beat the price for the quality.

I reccomend this hotel :) only 1 thing is the hotel is not at the beach but not so far, just drive about 5 minutes to the beach, everything is great!!

Good size room and good selection of food for breakfast, however the breakfas room was too small for guests and had to sit outside to eat. Not close to any of the local amenities so unless you want to get awa from it all dont chose here.

Clean quiet and close to the beach. A good price with a nice veiw of the Clearwater bay.

good hotel but customer service needs improvement, guest relations needs an upgrade.

Great hotel, clean and comfortable for the price.

I was sick so I had to spend quite a bit of time in the hotel. But the room was nice and the place was quiet. Great location for getting ot the beach, with out being on the beach. I was happy

i was please whit hotel great location. room was very clean. i short would recommend this hotel. i can wait for another quick vacation

The manager at the hotel on duty during our stay made it even nicer for us. She was very kind, friendly, and she helped us a great deal in finding transportation and meals. I would highly recommend staying there. Nice rooms, great staff, friendly and helpful atmosphere.

Clean, roomy, only a few miles from the beach, it was a great deal. I will definately use this hotel again on my next trip to Clearwater.

This was a very nice hotel in a safe location convenient to Pier 60, Tarpon's Sponge Docks and Caladesi Island. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. The room was very clean. The only problem we encountered was that the A/C in the common areas of the hotel was not working. They had service people there trying to get it fixed but it still wasn't fixed before we left. The A/C in the rooms was fine though so we stayed. Overall, this was a good hotel and we would stay there again.

The room was good, the location great (over looks Tampa Bay and Clearwater Beaches). We had a few issues with the room (toilet constantly running, microwave not working) but all issues were quickly addressed and fixed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only incident I had was that I and another customer got stuck in the elevator, but were quickly rescued by the hotel manager.
