Bikes are a preferred mode of transport in Perissa and can be hired inexpensively. Nearby Emporio is Santorini’s largest village, and is known for its winding alleys, blue-domed churches, and hillside windmills. Long-haul hikers can also follow a footpath to the ruins of Ancient Thera, and continue to the picturesque village of Kamari, roughly a 2-hour trip away.
