We recently stayed at the Grange Hotel in Grange-over-Sands for a weekend break. There are certainly some positives, but unfortunately a few issues meant the experience didn't quite live up to expectations.
On arrival, parking was the first challenge. The hotel's car park is very small considering the size of the hotel and was already full when we arrived. Reception advised us to park on the road further down the hill, which wasn't ideal when carrying multiple bags. Prior to our stay, I had specifically called to ask about EV charging facilities and was pleased to hear they had two charging points. However, during our visit it was impossible to get near them due to the parking situation, and there didn't appear to be any designated EV charging bays.
The room itself was spacious, comfortable and one of the better aspects of the stay. The food throughout our visit was also enjoyable and of a good standard.
Unfortunately, the leisure facilities were disappointing. The hot tub was only lukewarm, the sauna wasn't working on our first evening, and both the pool and hot tub seemed heavily chlorinated, to the point that they stung our eyes. Overall, the leisure area felt tired and dated and could benefit from some investment and refurbishment.
Our second night's sleep was also disrupted by loud music which continued until around 1:30am. When I raised this with reception the following morning, I received an apology but little else, which felt dismissive given the disturbance
