A totally unique and lovely place to stay in Venice. We came with two small kids, and so the fact that the suite was full of real (or at least real-seeming to us) antiques was a little bit stressful, but it was easy to manage and the suite is in an absolutely perfect location on a small quiet street but right in the middle of an excellent district -- literally 5 minutes to both St. Marks and Rialto.
The property certainly had charm and was very quaint. I think it could have benefited from having a microwave oven and more power points in the bedroom, though. The bathroom ceiling was very discoloured with damp stains and really needed to be redecorated. Also, some hooks on the door would have been helpful. The first two nights, we endured a terrible smell of sewage, but the third night was fine. As outlined in a previous review, the possibility of flooding became a reality when the entrance to the apartment block (lobby) flooded and we were trapped in the apartment for most of Friday morning. We were not warned about this by the owner. Chiara, the owner, was lovely, as was the lady (the cleaner) who saw us at the end of our stay. We were even allowed to store our luggage in the the foyer while we went out and about. We would certainly consider staying there again - and maybe bring some friends and relatives with us.
Property was wonderful! Perfect location for everything in Venice! Friendly staff!
Venician, great locations, friendly staff who are very helpful
This property was one of two in the same building we rented for our holiday. We stayed 6 nights. This review is for the one bedroom classic apartment that was rented for my in laws. I will write a separate review for the property I stayed in separately. The property was in a perfect location, just off the side of a very busy street so is very convenient for all the sites. Check in was very easy. Michaela met us at the Rialto waterbus stop and took us to the apartment. The classic apartment was suited for 2 people. However, I didn’t realise that there is no air con in this apartment (I didn’t check before booking this spay) and it was very hot. They had a fan to use and got by. There was also an issue with the bath tub - there were two holes in it so if you take a shower then the water leaks from the holes and goes on to the floor. Otherwise my parents enjoyed their stay but I think I wouldn’t book this apartment for travel in summer for them again without air conditioning.
Great location, main bedroom/living area was lovely. Very welcoming.
Loved staying at the San Lio apartments. We were met by an agent at the boat and escorted to the hotel. It was wonderful staying in such an old home and added to the charm of our visit. Centrally located. Felt like we were living in Venice for our stay! Highly recommend
The flat didn’t have the basic things in the kitchen to do cooking. Flat wasn’t very clean . Mosquitos bite my son and he suffers allergic reactions to insects bites. The internet was very bad. To get signal we have to move near to the front door . In conclusion we didn’t like it.
Good location, just 5 minutes walk from Rialto and San Marco Square.
Poor infrastructure Pest problem No ventilation Terrible bathroom Old rugs and sheets
