Good experience sadly spoilt

Check in was great, greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. The room & ensuite were comfortable, clean and spacious. The location and parking were very good. We had a lovely, tasty and reasonably priced evening meal and delicious desert in the bar, served by friendly staff with great customer service and a good atmosphere... then, a different member of staff came on duty who was rather rude and unhelpful, we waited 20 minutes after ordering a post-meal coffee only to be told the coffee machine wasn't working, we asked for a hot chocolate instead and waited a further 15 minutes only to be given a stone cold drink. When we asked for a replacement we were told that wasn't possible and were very reluctantly given a refund... shame that this poor experience tainted the overall good feeling for our stay.

Lyhƶrt boende med trafikerad gata och bara enkelglas. Har man dessutom rum ovanfƶr pubytan hƶrs musiken till lƄngt ƶver 2 under hƶgsƤsong. Smakfullt renoverat men utan kunnande eller omsorg. Dushkabinens dƶrrar gick inte att stƤnga. SvƄrt att fƄ hjƤlp med boendet nƤr puben har gƤster. VƄra vƤnner som hyrde hade avloppsdoft i rummet, det som erbjƶds som avhjƤlpning var parfym. KƤndes inte som personalen var sƄ omhƤndertagande. Det finns bƤttre alternativ Ƥn detta.

Standard accommodation, clean and all amenities. Staff very friendly and welcoming, the steak is AMAZING and so well cooked.

Unfortunately it was tired and dirty. We were looking forward to staying here but were very disappointed. Didn't even unpack! Bed was clean and comfortable but room needed cleaning.was dusty, toilet seat didn't fit properly and there were cobwebs in our room šŸ˜’

The room was cold, no heating had been on so in December it was very cold in the room, the bed sheets felt damp because the room hadn't been aired . I turned the radiators on but the heating wasn't on so made no difference.

Terrible bathroom. How not to treat guests.

The first room that we were given was not up to standard, well my standards anyway. So the owner upgraded us to his best room. The room was a good size and everything seemed ok. Then we went into the bathroom . The toilet seat didn't fit and the toilet brush was filthy. We decided that we weren't staying. Asked to owner for 50% reduction as we weren't staying point blank refused. Taking it further with help from Citizen Advice. If this is the standard of the best room's bathroom. Not recommended to stay here.

Staff were polite and helpful. Room was very dated and very small, but clean and comfortable. However the loud music coming from the bar below our room went on until 11 pm so if you want a quiet restful place to stay DO NOT CONSIDER this location.

Friendly staff and locals we felt welcomed and was kept happy. Food on the pricey side but that is due to the quality of the food on offer justified the price. Found the room well maintained and clean with basic facilities. Shower was always hot when we wanted a shower tea n coffee facilities provided and a TV which we didnt use.

Hayle is lovely with the nature reserve and beaches nearby. The Cornubia is near bus stops and I walked to the coast path and back via the harbour. Bar menu was good. Room is plain, spacious, clean and comfortable. Buses to St Ives, Penzance and Truro.
