The room was exceptionally well appointed. It truly was a full studio apartment. Great condition, clean and spacious. The entry, floor, and room doors are all digital touchpads using a single PIN provided on the day of arrival. It took a little trial and error at first, but worked well once you got used to it.
The hotel is located on a road closed to vehicular traffic, so it requires parking either on the adjacent streets or in a parking garage a few blocks away. Not a big deal but it does require planning. We parked in the Stjörnuport parking garage overnight, and our average daily cost was less than $20USD each day.
There are many shops, restaurants, and bars in the area. Please note that this thoroughfare can get pretty noisy in the evenings, particularly when the bars close. Sounds are somewhat insulated if the windows are closed.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the Vintage Hotel. The quality of the room compared to the daily rate far exceeded my expectations. We plan to return to Iceland for our next vacation and we will be sure to stay at the Vintage Hotel when we do.
