We really loved the lake Placid area and this place was conveniently located so we ended up staying there twice. Other than that, I wasn't impressed. The rugs were dirty and stained. One room was stuffy and hot and there wasn't a thermostat. One room didn't have a TV. They only offered coffee and unfortunately both times we tried to get some, there were no cups.

This is a quaint inn under new ownership. The staff was eager for us to have a great experience and we did! We were warmly greeted and any special requests we had were easily taken care of. Our evening was topped off by an excellent dinner of filet mignon in the attractive, cozy dining room/bar.

We were in the third floor in a converted attic. No window in room. Just a skylight without a shade. AC was in bathroom. We booked a year in advance and was not told this.

We stayed here a few years ago and it was beautiful. The downstairs area of the Inn that includes the restaurant is their only focus now. The rooms have been let go. We walked in and the cream colored carpet looked like a crime scene. Stains everywhere with a few looking like blood. Spider webs across the sink with resident spider still dangling from his castle. Empty box of tissues left on nightstand. Pictures taken from walls but nail holes visible. Dead bugs, 2 towels and 1 roll of TP. Shelves otherwise empty. TV was a prop and didn’t work. Heat didn’t work and it got down to 30 degrees the night we were there. No staff on site, we called ER number about the heat and sounded like a kid answering from a party said check the hallway. Called him back after looking and he didn’t answer our call. We decided to leave after this and again while there is no staff on site the back door we had to use to get to our car was left wide open. So no security at all. Funniest part is the woman we checked in with made a point to mention the gift bag they left in the room for us. So they had been in the room to leave a bag of candy and are clearly ok with charging someone to stay in the filth. I called the Inn the next morning to get a refund and got the usual response of “Someone offsite handles that so I can’t help you other than to email them.” I gave her the laundry list of issues and had my money back within the hour. It’s a shame because it used to be a wonderful place to stay.

We only stayed one night, but the kitchen staff were fantastic when we checked in. The rooms could do with a little updating to be ready for travelers with usb devices etc,etc. Overall great, dining was also great

Absolutely beautiful old Inn very near Mirror Lake

We felt we were stepping back in time but with all the modern amenities. Our room was beautiful, and the decor throughout the Inn was so nice. And their coffee in the morning was excellent. We ate in their restaurant and the food and service were superb.

Beautiful arts and crafts era home with inviting fire place in the front room, cozy bar, and comfortable, clean, charming guest rooms. Added bonus was the amazing dinner menu at the restaurant. Definitely will return here.

Such a beautiful and well cared for B & B. Comfortable, cool, clean, artistic and historic. Enjoyed my stay immensely. Favorite thing was I barely saw any staff there my entire stay. I think they purposely stay out of your way unless you need something. Awesome and unexpected.

Friendly spot in a fun town

Nice place in a great little town. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice location, not all that far from the main row of shops etc., we were able to walk... Expensive to stay around town, it is what it is. A negative would be that we were still able to hear restaurant noise downstairs at 11, still able to pass out after a full day though.

When we got there we had to walk through two feet of snow just to get in and there was nobody there to check us in. I had to call Casey to find out what room we were staying in, she wasn’t even there. (I had called before we even got there and left a message and never got a return call.)When she did get there, I asked her if we needed to make reservations for dinner at their restaurant and she said that it was closed. I told her that the website should be updated because it said that it was closed for the month of January and reopening in February. I also told her that we were really looking forward to dining there, that was one of the reasons that we paid so much for the room. The room was nice, but overpriced, we wouldn’t stay there again. There wasn’t anyone there when we checked out either, it was odd.

Ingen service, ikke pengene værd

Meget lille værelse på 3. sal. Ingen elevator. Utilstrækkelig aircondition. Intet køleskab på værelset. Ingen housekeeping overhovedet, så ingen tømte skraldespande eller sigtede håndklæder. Så ikke et menneske på de 3 nætter vi boede der. Morgenmad var stort set ikke eksisterende, bløde gamle mini croissanter, der gik igen fra dag til dag. Kaffen løb tør. Alt for dårligt til prisen og virker nedslidt.

Way overpriced. the service is very poor. the real issue that the place is a fire trap. It's an old wooden structure cut up into a warren of tight little hallways with no fire breaks or fire doors and only a singe path of egress in the event of fire, assuming you aren't going out the window.

The best place ever!

Our stay at the Interlaken Inn was wonderful! Owner Casey and staff member Heather could not have been friendlier or more responsive to our requests and comfort. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we could want. Our room was beautiful and breakfast in the morning was much better than your typical continental offerings! We were even given a handwritten thank you note when we checked out! If you are in Lake Placid you should chose to stay at the Interlaken Inn! You won't be disappointed!!

We thought the property could have used some general maintenance. The windows did not close well to keep out the cold, as we were there in February. The doors did not close well but seemed secure. There was no extra toilet paper, no tissues unless we asked for them. There were not enough outets. The light on one of the sides of the bed was not able to be plugged in. The bed was very good (king size). The food at the restaurant was exceptional. Staff was very good and friendly.

Good location, less than a block from town. Nice to have onsite parking. Our plans did not allow us to dine in, but the restaurant appeared to be a popular spot. Mary the Inn keeper was very pleasant and helpful.
