Bed bugs beware. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed;I have over 60 bites from bed bugs. The place was filthy, the light work in the landing, there wasn’t always hot water. Staff couldn’t be found and didn’t speak English, The website says breakfast available but there wasn’t any. In looking for the staff I saw the state of the kitchen and it was horrendous.

Excellent facilities,excellent food, particularly the Indian restaurant. Friendly and obliging staff. Superb beer garden and good well kept ales. Stairs and landing carpet could do with a makeover, other than that excellent.

Absolutely unacceptable. There was no running water, and the room condition was not suitable for staying. We contacted the property and were told to leave and contact Hotels.com for a refund, so we left without staying. Despite this, the refund was later refused. Extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

Do not book this hotel if cleanliness is important to you. Although the surfaces and bathroom were clean the bedroom floor and skirting area, showerhead and window were dirty. We stayed two nights and our room was not serviced for the second day. There were various things in our room which were in need of repair. Not the standard you would expect when you have paid £100 per night. The bar area and reception were untidy. The positives are that the hotel staff were polite and location is lovely.

The staff of just two were helpful and kind. The establishment is v tired and run down; it requires total refurbishment which would, hopefully, eliminate the pervasive musty smell.

When we arrived we were a little concerned as the staff member that greeted us was in tracksuit bottoms and a NFL top, we thought he was a guest to start with as he was just wandering around. It turned out he was the only member of staff all night, although he was nice enough its not good to have just one person doing front of house, bar, waiting on tables and cooking food! The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment, very dirty and untidy. Spoke to local residence and it has a very bad reputation I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Indian food was fantastic chief and barman very pleasant and chief always asked if food was ok Rooms could be cleaner a socket would be good near kettle .breakfast was mediocre but hot and served quickly could do with more choices If known it was a haunted hotel we would never have booked due to my anxiety Rooms not serviced asked for more toilet roll but never got

The staff were polite enough. Enjoyed talking to them, but, it states parking, there was no parking. There is street parking but not specific to the hotel, so first come first serve on the street. Rooms were tidy but cuboard under the sink was full of mold. Lots of holes in walls and I pointed at to one member of staff the waterfall coming from upstairs in the hallway (it was a dry day so maybe a shower overflow?). Dinner was good but was a struggle trying to get attention. No toilet roll in rooms but you can ask a staff member.

Needs a good clean new carpets everywhere could do with a maid service too. Fried breakfast was a bit greasy but otherwise food was ok the pizza I had was home made and was very nice. The manager was very helpful and courteous.. The location is lovely right by a lovely beach

Bad hotel. The person on duty was very slow and inefficient. He was not present in the morning when we needed to check out. The rooms were not clean and there were bed bugs in one bed. We got the bites to prove it. There was blood on some of the walls. I would suggest anyone staying here.

We stayed 5 nights, but only because we paid up front, couldn't get a refund, and in any event there were no vacancies elsewhere in the area. We spent as little time as possible in the place. I wonder what the owners are trying to do with this place, because running a hotel they are not. Perhaps it's a tax avoidance thing or something more sinister. There was only 1 member of staff trying to do everything (and badly at that). It's a potential death trap as the fire escape has no lighting and is pitch dark. ( One light didn't even have a bulb). The fire notices state to assemble in the car park in the event of an alarm....there is no car park. The hotel details state it is "beachside" but the nearest sand is at least 400m away. I could go on but it won't make any difference, Hotels com should remove this place from their website as soon as possible.

Room wasn't cleaned at all, all sorts of used items under the bed that did not belong to us, broken tiles on bathroom floor didn't allow to walk on it barefoot, shower was from hot to extremely hot, cobwebs all over the place. Awful state of the property, ell of damp everywhere, we had to leave after first night, it was unbearable to stay any longer

Read reviews after booking this last minute - wanted to cancel as they were so poor but couldn't without losing what we'd paid. Went with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't sparkling but it was clean enough. Bed linen and towels were clean. Cups less so. No teaspoon in room or sockets for the kettle. We managed. Staff largely absent and both check in and out were peculiar experiences but when we did interact with staff they were friendly enough. Spooky reviews unfounded for room 8 and we all slept peacefully enough. No parking but village and beach conveniently accessible.

Why you have this hotel on your web site is beyond me. It is a large hotel about 20 rooms run by 2 people one in his 40's and the other in his late 20's. The staff were very pleasant but they were overworked. The 40 year old man told me he was the manager, he was also reception, chef (not in proper cooking attire) barman and general dogs body. The young man was obviously not trained in housekeeping but this was his job along with many others. The breakfast was not very nice and we paid about £23 each for it - it was all very cheap produce. I think for £400 for 3 nights we were overcharged.
