Definitely not a 4-star hotel — more like an average 2–3 star. Staff are not concerned or helpful, and overall not worth staying here.
• Area: Feels unsafe at night with drunk or drugged people on the streets. They don’t bother you, but it’s uncomfortable, especially if you are alone.
• Hotel: Old and new sections exist, but photos online show only the new part. If you’re placed in the old wing, you’ll be disappointed. Small, claustrophobic lift.
• Rooms: Odd layout with WC right next to the bed in some rooms, no exhaust in bathroom, so humidity builds. Tablet controls for lights/curtains are temperamental and uncased — risky with kids. Plastic cups for tea and disposable glasses for water (never seen in a so-called 4-star). Beds are just twins pushed together; they slide apart at night.
• Cleaning: Poor housekeeping — they only make the bed. Tea cups weren’t replaced for 3 days; I had to wash them myself.
• Breakfast: Cold, limited, and below even 2-star standards. No fresh bread, only one yogurt option, cold omelette, poor dessert — very disappointing given Greece’s food culture.
Verdict: Overpriced, overrated, and falsely marketed as 4-star. Would not recommend. Stay in Plaka or Monastriki. If you want to stay in omonia find another hotel closer to the station they are of similar price.
