Stained pillowcases. I requested more to put over the existing cases so at least I knew they were clean, but they were still old and stained. Dirty, smelly, disgusting minibar that was impossible to use. Luckily you can't smell it in the photo. No hand soap in the bathroom, only shampoo in the shower. I didn't sleep well while worrying about the dirty condition of the room.
The majority of the guests seemed to be trades people and workers. Nobody knocked to offer to service the room so I had to take my rubbish to the staff member. I complained about the minibar. I then decided that I could not stay here so I checked out after 2 nights and forfeited the remaining 2 pre-paid nights in favour of moving to a much nicer hotel.
I calmly explained my decision to the reception staff who told me that it was non-refundable but they could offer me a room change - I imagine all of the rooms are dirty - or a credit note - why would I ever come back here? Someone who I assumed was the manager was hiding out of sight in the office, but he never made an appearance. He only spoke to the receptionist to tell her what to say but did not speak to me in person. In other words, there's nothing we're prepared to do. It's non-refundable. Their attitude was disgusting, just like their minibar.
If you want to stay in Cabo Branco, the Icon hotel next door looks much nicer, and there's an Ibis next to that. Nicer and cleaner hotels do exist, and probably with better customer service.
