Amenities not as described by Hotels.com and photos were misleading. Numerous standard conveniences were missing from my $300+ room and hotel itself, ranging from a non-existent night front desk manager (listed as on duty 24 hrs) and onsite restaurant (which is supposedly being built), to simple, inexpensive tea/coffee/espresso maker/fixings (not listed but needed since no there's no onsite snack bar/restaurant), to no indoor lounge or work/social space of any type to use beside's one's room, no closet doors that close to avoid clothing and belongings being out, to inadequate light switches—at least one bedside light of 2 are only controlled by 1 entry wall switch—all lights go off or on at once. The most shockingly rude and offensive night accountant (he called himself?) ostensibly there to greet guests seemed furious that he had a customer facing job at all, and more. The design is drab, cliched, cold, chintzy. Furniture and finishes are marred by scratches, despite being new according to the day manager. Hotel is not at all 4 star worthy as advertised, and barely should be given 3 stars for its lack of amenities. Giving a free beverage and/or microwaved pastry across Park Avenue standup place (not even next door, at a sit down cafe) does not make up for missing all that. Last, the hotel charged me an extra $100 the PM guy insisted was not extra. It was! The helpful day manager refunded it w/ no problem. Day staff tried hard, under new management. Hotel is not up to snuff.
