The room was clean, the street outside was noisy into the early hours with people on a night out.
Breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff were all pleasant, and friendly.
There did appear to be very few staff for such a large hotel.
On arrival there was no reception staff at 4pm, telephoning did eventually allow us to be let in.
The bar was depleted of pretty much everything we asked for, beer, mixers etc were all unavailable.
The hotel has a restaurant in the basement, and unfortunately strong cooking smells were evident.
Whilst the hotel has obviously undergone extensive renovations, on-going maintenance appears to be lacking. The shower control had become detached, the hot tap on the baisin was loose, signs of damp/previous leaks were noticeable in a number of areas.
The car park adjacent to the hotel is not in fact the designated car park. There are a few spaces opposite at the front of the job centre, we were advised if full, there was alternative parking nearby.
