We were very disappointed with our stay. After check-in, we found the toilet seat broken. The reception informed us it could be repaired in the evening, but since we had dinner plans, we agreed it could be fixed the next day after check-out. We placed the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.
However, when we returned from dinner, someone had entered our room without permission, repaired the toilet, and left dirty footprints and stains in the bathroom. This is a serious breach of privacy. No staff should enter a guest room when the “Do Not Disturb” sign is displayed.
When we reported the issue, the reception staff seemed unable to understand why we were upset. In addition, we found toothpaste on the bathroom door and a large brown water stain on the duvet. So the room was never really clean in the first place!
Mistakes can happen, but respecting guests’ privacy and maintaining cleanliness are basic standards. Unfortunately, there was no assistance, and no goodwill gesture. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience — luckily, only for one night.
