I arrived @9:45pm after a difficult, stressful 6 hour drive (due to heavy winter conditions in the mountains) from Dover, DE.
Phoenix did a nice job at check in; efficient & courteous. Assigned me rm 224. So far so good.
This was a Sunday night and the hotel was clearly no where near capacity.
By about 10:30 I was relieved to be settled
About 11pm there’s a lot of thumping and noise in the hallway right outside my door. Thru the peep hole I saw a luggage trolley. For the next 20 minutes there was noise like baggage being lugged around moving into rm 222. That door carelessly slammed closed several times over the next 45 minutes as I tried to doze off.
First thing about 7am more banging doors.
I called the desk to inform them - the gent was not Phoenix but the next shift I suppose. I just wanted to be in record. I didn’t see any simple solution at this point.
MY QUESTION: Why was this late arrival assigned the room beside mine when there were so many rooms available that night? Very frustrating.
