We were extremely disappointed with this stay. After driving more than 12 hours for our family vacation, we arrived to find that the unit was not as advertised and was in unacceptable condition. While management later explained that the unit is privately owned, that distinction means very little to guests who book through the resort expecting a certain standard of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance. The unit appeared poorly maintained and in need of significant repairs. The most concerning issue was what appeared to be black mold on some of the pillows. In addition, the HVAC system emitted a strong burning odor, as if something was overheating, and it struggled to keep the room cool despite the summer heat. The unit remained uncomfortably warm throughout our stay. The listing also advertised accommodations for up to 10 guests, but we found that unrealistic. We ultimately had to purchase our own air mattresses to make sleeping arrangements work for our family, which was an unexpected expense after paying for lodging that was supposed to accommodate our group. Had we known about these issues before making the long drive, we would have chosen different accommodations. Unfortunately, finding alternative lodging on short notice during a busy vacation period was not practical. Overall, this stay was frustrating, uncomfortable, and far below expectations. We expected a clean, safe, and properly maintained unit, but that was not our experience.
