Unable to cancel and shocking service
I'll start by saying I did not stay here. For some reason, upon booking, when I selected 'dog friendly' this option came up. In the comments I noted that I was bringing a dog so asked a room away from noises etc. I booked after 10pm on 29th June for a stay on 21st July ie over 3wks later. The following afternoon the hotel sent a message saying that they do not allow dogs so I would not be able to check-in with a dog. I therefore explained that I wasn't sure how the search had shown their property and requested a cancellation. They advised me to contact Expedia as they'd charged my card but also said that they would have refunded if cancelled the same day (how could that have been possible when I wasn't aware of your pet policy and you didn't contact me until the next day? - it was still within 24hrs!)
After a lot of emails back and forth, even explaining that I had a lot going on, my husband had recently been involved in a serious accident and 11 days in hospital, the owner still refused to refund - I had also paid for 2 breakfasts which we were obviously not having - they even refused to refund those!
With 3 weeks notice requesting cancellation they could obviously have rebooked the room (which they probably did anyway).
Appauling customer service, no compassion, no sympathy, just greedy!
