Avoid at all costs. Very confused with the 8.2 rating on Hotels.com, please take the negative reviews seriously. From the moment we walked in we thought something wasn’t quite right as there was no one on reception to open the parking gate for us. Eventually a woman appeared at the front desk but seemed preoccupied with talking to her children/family. Not appropriate to have one’s family going behind the reception desk or hanging out at the work place.
Our first room in the upper floor had a tiny window with a broken blind, leaving the room in complete darkness with a strong smell of mold. We told reception and they immediately started sorting out another room, didn’t offer an apology or seemed surprised with the issue. New room had an empty hand soap bottle and broken furniture with a piece of wood hanging. Again we told reception but got no reaction or apology. No hand towel in either room
Our family also stayed in different rooms with similar issues such as missing door knobs, no hand towel, broken AC, toilet not flushing, low pressure shower and water changing temperature from lukewarm to boiling hot, bedside lights not working and smelly rooms. Exterior/river area dirty with rubbish and rat traps. Taken individually, some of these could be dismissed as insignificant but taken together, they paint a picture that the rooms are not maintained to the standard of a 3-star hotel.
We are grateful we stayed one night only and never again at B&B.
