We stayed at Rose Hill Retreat based on policies stated on Hotel.com and Rose Hill Retreat websites. We understand there are new owners but if they are not going to honor these policies then the websites should be changed before they advertise. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway for my husband and me. 1. A full chef prepared 3 course breakfast would be served every morning. They now do a continental breakfast 2 days a week and the other days are not as promised. 2. No one under 18 can stay at the property. At breakfast there was a 5 or 6 year old whining and complaining and an 8 or 9 year old running through the breakfast area. When personnel was ask about this they said they allowed well behaved 12 year olds. Neither of these children were 12 or well behaved. 3. Maid service every day. They no longer provide maid service but you can ask for some thing and they will provide it immediately. We would not have chosen this location if we had known about these changes. With that being said the cabin we stayed in was lovely, the location just outside of town was quiet and beautiful. Last but not least Nicole was very helpful and friendly.

My wife and I had a really wonderful stay. The BnB is extremely charming and well maintained. It offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Hill Country and is great location if you are looking for some quiet and solitude. The drive into Fredericksburg is a very easy and a straight shot. I loved this place and will definitely book again!

Beautiful property and cozy cottages. The views are so peaceful and lovely. The staff are very kind and helpful . We stayed in the prim rose cottage and it was such a chance to destress sitting on the porch watching the wild life in the breeze. We were there Monday / Tuesday so the chef was off but they had a nice continental breakfast left and it was a wonderful way to start the morning on the veranda with breakfast. The beds are comfortable the bathrooms are spacious and well stocked. It was a a perfect birthday treat to escape the rat race and reflect. It’s also not to far from Fredericksburg for shopping and dining. This was our second visit and we will be back.

Breakfast was delicious with healthy options. Rose Hill was a great place to stay. It was gloriously quiet while Fredericksburg was noisy. The balcony was wonderful for sunrises and sunsets, a great place to start up and unwind.

This was our 35th anniversary and we expected some acknowledgment of it….nothing. No personal touches. No contact to prior to check in. The breakfasts need another option. Runny eggs over store bought guacamole on toast isn’t appetizing to some and checking for allergies before serving foods would be a huge plus (aka Buckwheat waffles) The location is still beautiful (we stayed there on our 29th anniversary ) and the lodging is wonderful. Just adding some personal touches and options for breakfasts would help a lot. Also mentioning you can walk to Pedernales Winery just next door would be nice too. Will most likely not return though.

Rose Hill Retreat is an absolutely beautiful location with great staff and lovely rooms. We stayed in the Sunrise room in the main building which has its own separate sun room with day bed and balcony. The view is stunning and sitting on the balcony drinking local wine and enjoying a charcuterie board and watching the sun set was amazing. Likewise, sitting outside drink a coffee and listening to the birds in the morning was a great way to starrt the day. The breakfast from the chef in the morning was great as well. Pedernales winery is a 2 minute walk from the building and central Fredericksburg is less than a 10 minute drive. We loved our stay here and met some lovely people and I can highly recommend Rose Hill.

A place of beauty and peace

We loved our time here at Rose Hill. It's a peaceful place where they pay just the right amount of attention to you and your needs. We had an issue in our original room before we arrived so they upgraded us to the Lotus room and it was beautiful. The complimentary breakfast each day was delicious, we especially loved the banana bread. Thank you, Rosehill for making our 25th anniversary so special.

We really enjoyed the beautiful property of Rose Hill Retreat, inside and out. Our Sunrise Suite upstairs was huge and very clean. Walk-in close, large bathroom had two sinks, and private toilet. There was a private sunroom with microwave and small refrigerator. The sunroom opened up into a shared patio which was the length of the building facing a beautiful frontyard with a long drive way down to the road. It is out in the country and my husband and I enjoyed walking a couple of miles down the country road. No places to shop which was fine- we were not looking for that. We went to a winery next to the property and that was nice. Now about the breakfast - was a major letdown. For a place that is a bed and breakfast, it was very disappointing. Plates were set down before us with no questions about food preferences or food allergies. Our plates had two runny eggs and a sausage split in half. Second morning half waffle was given to us and I played the waffle was smothered and syrup with a dollop of whipped cream and a fruit compote and granola, and bacon. No fruit was offered to us either day. Self-seve tea and coffee were good. There was a nice area with electric kettles that you could help yourself to. Plus sodas and water and ice. There was a lady who quickly answered our phone calls so that was nice as she was not on site but easily accessible.

I recently stayed at the Rose Hill Retreat in Fredericksburg and it was absolutely amazing. The scenery was beautiful, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The living quarters were very comfortable and well-maintained, making it feel like a home away from home. The breakfast was GREAT, and dinner was also a highlight, with fine dining that exceeded my expectations. Shannon and Glenn were absolutely amazing hosts, going above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. I highly recommend the Rose Hill Retreat for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable experience.
