We stayed at Tembo House Hotel in Stone Town for two nights, in room 106. While the hotel has some positive aspects, there are also several areas that could be improved.
The room was very small, with barely enough space for our luggage. It felt cramped, and it was almost impossible to move around the bed on both sides. The bed itself was quite hard and uncomfortable, with only a thin blanket and sheet provided, which did not add much to the comfort level. Additionally, the room was quite noisy, with a lot of sound coming in from the hallway.
In the restaurant, we experienced that both crows and cats would come inside, meaning you had to keep a close eye on your food. That said, the food itself was tasty and well-prepared, which was a definite positive.
On the plus side, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also appreciated that the hotel provided us with an early breakfast in a takeaway bag, as we had to leave before the restaurant opened—this was a thoughtful and convenient touch.
Overall, while the service and food were good, the room conditions and restaurant environment leave room for improvement.
