This was overall not a bad hotel stay. We were there over labor day holiday, and the manager apologized for being understaffed in trying to get
breakfast set out the first morning (Saturday morning). I understood as well that some expected food deliveries had not arrived and may have contributed to a "meh" breakfast during our stay.
The room was generally clean (bedding, dusted, swept, etc) but bathroom is probably due for a slight touch up for grouting and minor repairs. The only odd thing we noticed was when walking through the room barefoot and then into the shower, noticeable dirt/mud was on our feet. Im not sure if they used some kind of carpet cleaner that embedded the soil and coated the carpet... you couldn't really notice it visually or feeling anything odd or gritty, but stepping into the shower it looked like we had walked in mud puddles.
As a side note, my brother stayed the same weekend at Holiday Inn Express just a few yards away -at the exact same cost for the same dates... their main reason for staying there was the breakfast experience which was far superior than ours. If traveling on a budget, with kiddos or just for convenience, that in and of itself could change our decision on where we stay going back.
Comfort Inn was comfortable, but would likely be a second or third choice for us next time.
