Look, this hotel is cheap so you get what you pay for, therefore i have no complaint. The hotel was obviously once very nice, but has been let go and could do with some investment ( but then the prices go up). Bedding was clean, room serviced daily so thats all i wanted. I would recommend for cheap rooms.

Awful - dirty, dusty, no bar, no restaurant. Shown to the room - dirty laundry still in there from the previous incumbents. Filthy carpets in the room and on the staircase. An absolutely disgraceful place not worthy of a single star. Booked two nights - left immediately as we woke up after the first night and went to The Bull just up the road which was superb. All I can say in mitigation of this abomination is that the poor bloke who was attending to it was friendly and enthusiastic. Horrific.

The hotel is quite dated and in need of some modernisation. The shower had no pressure and lacked hot water, the bathroom in general needed a good deep clean. The single bed in the room was comfortable enough, but the double bed was far too soft. There is limited parking, but there was a space when I arrived so it wasn't an issue. The location is great, in the centre of Battle, and all the local sites are within walking distance

The George is in an ideal position, on the high street. Next door is a really good Thia Restaurant. There is a popular Italian restaurant within the hotel and an excellent little wine bar a few steps down the street. The George is a budget hotel that gives good value. We had plenty of space both in the room and bathroom. Toiletries and tea/coffee facilities were provided. The fan was very much appreciated during the hot spell.

The actual building is nice and it’s all located. I felt that it really needed some attention. There was no light shade in the light just a bare bulb in the bathroom and things in the bathroom in particular were in need of updating the tap turned around for example and there were strange marks in the bath. Our stay was also interrupted by someone trying to get into our room at 2:30 am shaking the door handle very vigourously. I don’t think there is anyone on reception overnight and they came twice. I’m not sure if there’s anything that the hotel could do about this. It was probably another guest who was drunk or lost, but it was quite frightening. It was a reasonably priced room at the end of the day.

This was not a good hotel, the stairs leading to the room were squeaky, the window in my room very dirty, I had to ask them for a fan as my room was very hot I couldn't open the window fully, I will never recommend anyone to stay there unless they are desperate.

Good for Battle sight seeing. The beds are clean and there is parking. Lots of pubs and eateries nearby. Price very reasonable but property needs attention but price reflects this. Only downside no one replied to my emails 😤

While there was parking, it’s a small car park. Room was hot and while there was a fan provided it really didn’t help. Room overlooked road which meant constant road noise as window had to be kept open to avoid room becoming an oven.

Towels and bedding were clean, although the rooms lacked TLC with the shower cubicle needing a good clean and the grouting redoing and the cobwebs clearing from the curtain rail. The hotel does not have its own restaurant and does not supply any meals. Car parking is to the rear of the property and has limited spaces, definitely not enough for the entire hotel, but their is public parking 5 minutes away which is free between the hours of 6pm and 8am. The hotel does have guest WiFi. If your looking for somewhere to just sleep and use as a base then this is ok. The Italian restaurant on the ground floor is a separate business and we had enough lovely meal there
