The photos and videos from this hotel are deceiving. They claim to be a boutique hotel and the lobby makes it seem like it is, but the rooms are run down with lots of water damage of the bathroom door, patching that's not been repainted, scuffs everywhere (I mean, the room I had was small - wasn't surprised, but people have really bumped into the walls of the room), and just overall rundown. The air conditioning is very outdated - the kind of under window AC you'd find in a roadside motel. The unit in my room was pretty gross, but it worked too well at first (it was freezing and not very adjustable) and then completely crapped out on the last and hottest day I was in New York when it was in the upper 90s with a 70 degree dew point. I had to move to a different hotel because they said they couldn't do anything about it and they didn't have any other rooms. From the brief time I was in the lobby, it appeared I wasn't the only guest whose AC stopped working.
Hotel 32 32 management, you need to renovate your rooms on the surface level at the very least, but no one should have to deal with old, possibly moldy, AC units that are unreliable. My son came home with a cold.
The positive: the location is great - far enough away from super touristy areas like Times Square - close to amenities like Trader Joe's and CVS.
I wouldn't stay here again unless they renovated the hotel and my thought is that they would just raise their rates making it unaffordable leaving it out of reach.
